CitySide Sports – Netball is a netball club and sports complex located in Preston, Australia. The club operates out of St. John's Greek Orthodox College and offers a one-court venue for netball games. Access to the venue is through Blanch St, off Bell St.
The venue does not offer casual court hire, but it hosts competitive netball competitions for ladies on Wednesday evenings. Game start times range from 6:35pm to 9:45pm, and teams have the option to block out a preferred game time. However, due to limited availability, teams are encouraged to register early to secure their desired time slot.
CitySide Sports is known as Melbourne's leading social sports competition provider. Along with netball, they also offer hardcourt volleyball and indoor rebound beach volleyball. They have multiple locations across Melbourne, including Richmond, Footscray, Clifton Hill, Preston, and Doncaster.
Their Brunswick centre, which features an indoor rebound beach volleyball court, is available for casual hit-outs, social events, corporate events, and even glow-in-the-dark volleyball. The centre also has a licenced bar, catering to both their nighttime competitions and event hire.
CitySide Sports began with their first venue in Mayors Park, Clifton Hill, in 2007. Since then, they have expanded to become the largest provider of social netball in Melbourne, with eight different locations. Their strong reputation stems from their commitment to excellent service, dedicated umpires, and their charitable efforts. Over the years, they have raised over $111,000 for various organisations, including headspace, MND Vic, and SANDS Victoria.
Despite being a private enterprise sports business, CitySide Sports strives to create a community atmosphere that feels like a local sports club. They go above and beyond to provide additional services, such as offering nail tape for players, providing freshly washed and clean bibs for every game, and offering comprehensive insurance coverage for injuries.
Their enthusiastic and passionate umpires contribute to the overall positive experience at the netball competitions. Unlike other competitions where umpires walk during games, CitySide Sports umpires are actively engaged and committed to promoting the game of netball.
In addition to Preston, CitySide Sports offers netball competitions in Clifton Hill, Doncaster, Footscray, and Richmond. The competitions cater to both mixed and ladies teams, with different days assigned for specific categories. For example, Monday to Thursday at Clifton Hill offers mixed and ladies divisions, while Richmond has mixed and ladies divisions from Monday to Thursday.
