The City of Liverpool Gymnastics Club, also known as the “Home of Champions,” is a prestigious gymnastics academy located in Liverpool, United Kingdom. The club prides itself on offering every child the opportunity to participate in the sport of gymnastics and reach their full potential. Led by internationally acclaimed head coach Claire Hynd and supported by a team of talented and dedicated coaches, the City of Liverpool Gymnastics Club has gained a worldwide reputation and is arguably the most successful club in Great Britain.
The club boasts world-class facilities, providing a safe and stimulating environment for gymnasts of all ages and abilities. The extensive range of classes and programmes cater to different skill levels, ensuring that each gymnast receives the appropriate training and support. All sessions are delivered by fully qualified and experienced coaches who are committed to providing the best experience for every child.
Parents and gymnasts can get to know the dedicated coaching team at the City of Liverpool Gymnastics Club. The head coach is Claire Hynd, who leads the team of coaches including Cheryl Gregson, Barbara Jones, Rebecca Howell, Emma Davies, Hannah Clowes, Gemma Evans, Rebecca Tunney, Ami Herring, Kelsey Moore, and Diane Rich. Additionally, the club has assistant coaches such as Tommy Fury, Elfin Estil, Jamie Brown, and Jade Wright.
The club offers a variety of classes to cater to different age groups and abilities. One such class is the “Tiny Gym” session, designed for children aged 0–5 years old. This guided open play session allows children to develop and explore their balance, coordination, motor skills, spatial awareness, and body control. The session also focuses on cognitive development by introducing colours, numbers, word association, and social interaction in a safe and fun environment.
Another programme offered by the club is the “Animal Academy,” a recreational gymnastics programme for children aged 4 and above. This programme aims to introduce children to the sport of gymnastics in a fun and friendly way. Gymnasts in the Animal Academy develop core skills such as balance, coordination, flexibility, social skills, and confidence. They also work towards British Gymnastics Proficiency Awards, earning badges and certificates for each level passed.
The City of Liverpool Gymnastics Club offers regular sessions for the Tiny Gym and Animal Academy programmes. Tiny Gym sessions run on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with three different time slots available. Animal Academy sessions are held on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, with different time slots for specific age groups.
Please note that the club does not have a viewing room, but there is a café area where parents can wait during the sessions. It is required that parents stay on-site for all gymnasts under the age of 8 years.
