CHUNG DO TAEKWONDO Manly is a renowned martial arts school located in the beautiful beachside suburb of Manly, Sydney. Established in 1974 by Grand Master Suh Chun Suk, CHUNG DO TAEKWONDO Manly is one of the oldest Taekwondo dojangs in Australia. The school offers classes at six convenient locations across Sydney's Northern Beaches and Lower North Shore. The classes cater to students aged 4 and above, starting with a special class for young children and general classes for total beginners to experienced black belts. It is not uncommon to find multiple members of the same family training at the school, including siblings and parents.
The physical benefits of practising Taekwondo are plentiful. The training helps develop balance, coordination, situational awareness, and strength and conditioning. The school also provides school sports programmes exclusively for students of selected high schools.
As of 2020, CHUNG DO TAEKWONDO Manly is committed to offering both online and in-person classes. With the easing of lockdown protocols in Australia, the school plans to open its doors for in-person training while continuing to provide online options.
The school has garnered much recognition for its distinguished performance in national competitions. In the Australian Taekwondo National Championships, CHUNG DO TAEKWONDO Manly placed 6th out of 94 dojangs from all across Australia, making it the highest-ranking club from NSW. This achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the students, coaching team, and supportive parents.
Looking to the future, CHUNG DO TAEKWONDO Manly has plans to expand its presence with new locations in the Northern Beaches and Rhodes in 2024. To prepare for this expansion, the school has welcomed new instructors to learn and uphold the unique teaching style and values ingrained in the school.
As the year draws to a close, CHUNG DO TAEKWONDO Manly has an exciting schedule ahead. The final grading of the year is planned for the weekend of December 10th, with accommodations made for individuals who may be away. The last class of the year will be held on Sunday, December 17th, and classes and memberships will resume in January.
