Chum Kune Do Martial Arts Academy, based in Gillingham and Rainham, is a renowned Martial Arts school offering training in Chum Kune Do, a unique and powerful Eurasian Martial Art. Founded by Grand Master-Shizu Clifford Hyde-Gomes, Chum Kune Do Martial Arts Academy provides a comprehensive training programme for individuals of all ages and abilities.
Chum Kune Do is not just about physical combat, but also about awakening knowledge within oneself. Shizu Clifford developed this fighting method specifically for the 21st century, incorporating techniques taken from the streets, making it highly practical and effective in real-life situations. The training takes place on soft mats, with each session beginning with a traditional Eurasian greeting by bowing.
One of the primary focuses of Chum Kune Do Martial Arts Academy is the Little Ninjas programme designed for 5 to 9-year-olds. This age group is considered the “golden age”, where children are emotionally stable and have a strong teacher-student relationship. However, they often lack core physical skills. Through the Little Ninjas programme, kids develop teamwork, concentration, focus, discipline, and mental and physical coordination.
Chum Kune Do Martial Arts Academy offers classes throughout the week, with sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The locations vary between Gillingham and Rainham, allowing for convenient access to training. In addition to the scheduled classes, Grand Master-Shizu Clifford also offers personalised one-on-one training, tailored to individual needs and goals.
To join Chum Kune Do Martial Arts Academy, there is no contract to sign, but a monthly fee is required in advance. The academy welcomes individuals of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced martial artists. The training encompasses various aspects of martial arts, including self-defence, kickboxing, mixed martial arts (MMA), and more.
For children aged 5 to 9, the Little Ninjas classes are held on Wednesdays from 5:00pm to 6:00pm at Howard's school in Rainham, Kent. The family session takes place on Saturdays from 10:30am to 11:30am at the Parkwood Community Centre in Rainham, Kent. Furthermore, self-defence classes are offered in private sessions, with the scheduling arranged according to individual preferences.
Chum Kune Do Martial Arts Academy is committed to providing an enriching and safe environment for students to develop valuable skills that will last a lifetime. With the expertise and guidance of their 9th degree Master Chief, Shizu Clifford, students can expect to learn respect, concentration, focusing, coordination, attitude, fitness discipline, self-control, teamwork, self-defence, and the elegant movements of Kung Fu.
