Our club's primary focus is on developing the swimming skills of members of all ages, allowing them to progress through to competing at local, regional, and national level galas.

We believe in providing top quality swim training and coaching to all our members, regardless of their age or swimming ability. Our goal is to help swimmers improve their technique and fitness, whether they aim to compete or simply enjoy swimming as a form of exercise.

At Chirk Dragons Swimming Club, we offer a structured swimmer development programme in line with the Long Term Athlete Development to ensure every member has the opportunity to reach their full potential. We encourage competitive swimming at various levels by promoting competitions and championships for our members, and by entering external competitions held under Swim Wales laws.

Our club plays a crucial role in supporting the coaching programme through various activities including maintaining records, handling competition entries, providing transport and accommodation, organising social events, fundraising, and sponsorship. We are an entirely amateur club run by dedicated volunteers who are passionate about the health, fitness, and swimming development of our members.

We offer comprehensive swimming coaching and training programmes for both junior and masters swimmers. Our experienced and qualified teachers in our Water Dragons section build on the skills learned in swim school and help swimmers progress towards becoming competitive swimmers. We follow the Swim Wales Advanced Skills award scheme to ensure swimmers have the necessary skills to compete in galas.

Chirk Dragons Swimming Club has a range of training times at multiple venues, as well as events and competitions throughout the year. We have a diverse team of swimmers, from our youngest members training to be competitive swimmers to our senior squad members competing in national finals. We are proud of every member of Chirk Dragons, including our dedicated coaches, volunteers, and officials.
