Welcome to Chipping Sodbury Cricket Club (CSCC), a non-profit sports organisation based in Bristol, New Zealand. The club's main objective is to provide a balanced approach to cricket, offering both high-performance and recreational opportunities in a safe and welcoming environment. With a rich history dating back to 1860, CSCC is a friendly club that welcomes players of all ages and abilities.
To join our cricket club, you can either complete the form on our “About Us” page or contact us via email at ChipSodCC@gmail. Com. We pride ourselves on providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members.
One of our initiatives to raise funds for the club is through our Lotto programme. For a monthly fee of 2, members have the chance to win cash prizes, with 50% of the fees being paid out as prizes. Monthly prizes include 50 and 20, and there are also annual prizes, with three prizes of 100 awarded at our Presentation evening in 2021.
We are proud to highlight our sponsored player, Jake Kirkham, who is supported by the Bristol School of Performing Arts (BSPA). BSPA aims to unlock talent and ambition in individuals, providing them with the necessary skills to achieve their dreams. Jake not only excels on the field as a bar manager and 3rd team batter/keeper but also pursues his passion for the performing arts.
Our club comprises different teams, each with their own objectives and levels of competition. The first XI, second XI, and Women's team strive to play at the highest level possible. We encourage junior players to aspire to be selected for county squads, even if it means playing in higher age groups. For those who prefer a less pressurised approach or are unable to play for performance teams, we run third and fourth XI teams, offering a more development-oriented experience.
We strongly encourage female players to participate in all our teams.
Youth development is an important aspect of our club, and we are committed to providing all players with opportunities that match their abilities and promote good attitudes. At younger ages, players train and play together. As they grow older, they are split into performance and recreational teams. We also offer dedicated girls' teams and encourage girls to play in boys' teams.
We are fortunate to have the support of sponsors, such as Chartwell Funding, who have been our principal sponsor for the last three seasons and have extended their partnership for another two years. Their support has been instrumental in the growth and success of our club.
Our senior teams are highly competitive and compete in various leagues. The First XI plays in the Gloucestershire Division of the West of England leading League (WEPL) and has matches on Saturdays, with summer training on Thursdays. The Women's team, fully integrated into CSCC since 2020, competes in the Gloucestershire Women and Girls League, with matches mainly scheduled for Sundays and training on Monday evenings. The Second XI plays in Division 4 of the Gloucestershire County Cricket League, and the Third XI competes in Division 8 of the Bristol and District League.
At Chipping Sodbury Cricket Club, we strive to provide a holistic cricketing experience that caters to players of all ages and abilities. We invite you to join our club and become a part of our rich cricketing heritage. For more information, visit our social media channels and club directories.
