Chief instructor Sensei Rod Butler, with over 45 years of experience in Shotokan Karate, leads Chingford Karate Club. Sensei Butler trained under the guidance of Sensei Enoeda at the Marshall St Dojo in London's West End. He achieved his 4th Dan KUGB JKA under Sensei Enoeda in May 1999. Sensei Enoeda, a highly respected figure in the karate community, was the Chief Instructor of the KUGB and JKA.
