Swimming by Design offers a unique approach to swimming lessons that can make a real difference for your child. If your child has been struggling, feeling left behind, or dreads going to lessons, our approach may be exactly what they need. Unlike traditional lessons, our group lessons have a maximum of 4 students and are taught in the water, with teachers demonstrating and explaining the techniques. We also offer private lessons for a more personalised experience.
Our lessons create a relaxed and fun atmosphere where children can feel comfortable and confident in the water. We believe in teaching without teaching, using engaging activities to help children develop their skills. For older children, we provide enough theory to make them educated swimmers without overwhelming them.
At Swimming by Design, we prioritise teaching good habits from the start. We don't believe in mindlessly repeating exercises that reinforce bad habits. Instead, we focus on ensuring that our students perform basic exercises correctly before moving on to more advanced techniques. Our lessons are always interesting and engaging, keeping children motivated and excited about swimming.
We accept children aged 4 and older, following the recommendations of the ASA for their physical and mental development. However, we also welcome older children who may have had difficulty with lessons elsewhere. You can start lessons at any time during the school term and simply pay pro rata until the end of the current term.
Wondering about the schedule? Here are the term dates for 2023-24: Autumn Term starts on 2-3 September and ends on 16-17 December. Spring Term starts on 6-7 January and ends on 23-24 March. Summer Term starts on 13-14 April and ends on 6-7 July. Please note that there are designated weekends off and half-term breaks.
Our lessons are available on Saturdays from 1:00 PM to 5:15 PM and Sundays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM during school terms. If you're interested in booking a spot or checking available spaces, please contact us.

Curious about the prices? Our children's group lessons are £12.00 per class, with each class lasting 30 minutes, including a brief changeover. You have the option to pay for a term in advance or join our monthly payment plan. We also offer private lessons for both adults and children at £30.00 per half hour, with the recommendation of an hour-long session for adults.
