Cadmans Dance Centre, a local Contemporary Dance club in Sale, is proud to present Children's Street Dance, a weekly event that takes place every Wednesday. Designed for boys and girls over 7 years old, this exciting dance style incorporates elements of hip hop, break-dancing, funk, and jazz, with choreography set to hip hop, RnB, and pop music.
To ensure the best learning experience, the classes are divided into different age categories, allowing the choreography to be tailored specifically for each group. In addition, all children have the opportunity to participate in the prestigious International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) medal test system.
For the classes, youngsters are recommended to wear joggers or leggings along with a comfortable top, paired with trainers, pumps, or black jazz shoes. During the short break in classes, a tuck shop is available where dancers can purchase drinks, crisps, sweets, and chocolate. Of course, dancers are also welcome to bring their own small snacks, although hot food is not permitted in the studio.
IDTA medal tests are held three times a year, usually in March, July, and November. The examination forms are distributed to the children a month prior to the exam date, and prompt payment is required before the deadline. These exams take place on Sundays at the studio, providing a great opportunity for dancers to showcase their skills and gain recognised qualifications.
While it is encouraged for parents or carers to leave their children for the duration of the class, they are more than welcome to stay and observe the first class. Rest assured that all our teachers are qualified professionals or currently student teachers in training, and every assistant and teacher over 18 years old has undergone the necessary DBS checks to ensure the safety and welfare of the children.
