The syllabus at Chi Hub covers three levels of proficiency. Beginners will start with basic stances and hand movements, focusing on improving alignment and breathing through Qigong exercises. They will follow a short 10-step Beijing style form to develop a solid foundation in Tai Chi. Intermediate level classes will offer more challenging Tai Chi routines, including the 24 Step Taijiquan, 13 and 38 Sun Style Forms, 32 Step Taijiquan Sword, and Kung Fu Fan.
These classes will delve deeper into technique and applications. Advanced practitioners will have the opportunity to learn the long hand form 88 Yang Taijiquan and 98 Sun Style.
In addition to the regular classes, Chi Hub also offers online Health Qigong sessions, allowing individuals to practise from the comfort of their own homes. This flexibility ensures that Tai Chi and Qigong can be incorporated into busy schedules and provides accessibility to a wider audience.
Tai Chi and Qigong are both rooted in the concept of Qi, governed by the principles of Yin and Yang, and follow the five element theory. Practised in a slow and relaxed manner, they offer a myriad of health benefits. Qigong, in particular, is an ancient Chinese system of body and mind healing that emphasises working with energy. It combines breathing techniques, gentle movements, and focused intention to strengthen and cleanse the body, as well as support smooth flow of energy and blood circulation.
Tai Chi, on the other hand, is a form of martial art that utilises smooth and seemingly effortless, yet powerful and dynamic movements.
Diane and Chi Hub are accredited through the Deyin Taijiquan Institute (GB) and the British Health Qigong Association. With over 20 years of teaching experience, Diane has competed in prestigious events such as the British Opens, the BCCMA National Championships, and BCMA Wushu.
