Chewton Pool is a community-owned and operated outdoor swimming pool situated in the picturesque Goldfields of Central Victoria. Known as the best little community-run pool in the world, Chewton Pool is the summer hub for the beautiful Chewton community.
Operating daily from early December to mid-March, Chewton Pool relies on dedicated volunteers and sponsors to keep its doors open. If you have some time to spare over the summer, consider becoming a Chewton Pool volunteer and be part of this fantastic community initiative.
The pool follows a weather forecast policy, and if the BoM (Bureau of Meteorology) predicts that the temperature in Chewton for the following day will be 22 degrees Celsius or less, the pool will not open. Stay up-to-date with the latest information by checking their Instagram or Facebook accounts.
Chewton Pool is more than just a swimming pool; it is a key hub for social connexion, recreation, health, and aquatic education. It is located on Dja Dja Wurrung country and provides a unique experience for locals and visitors alike.
During summer, Chewton Pool runs a variety of programmes, including their very own swim school called Chewton Swim. Led by experienced AUSTSWIM-accredited central Victorian swim teachers, Chewton Swim follows the Swim and Survive programme developed by Royal Life Saving. This programme aims to teach children vital swimming and water safety skills.
Chewton Pool Inc. is governed entirely by a volunteer-led committee of management, with the support of dedicated community volunteers and key seasonal professional staff. The Chewton community takes great pride in this community asset and is eager to share it with others.
By purchasing a season membership, you directly contribute to the ongoing running of Chewton Swimming Pool. Community memberships play a vital role in keeping the facility operational. Season memberships provide access to the pool throughout the season during opening hours and also offer discounts for the Chewton Swim and Aquadux programmes.
Chewton Swimming Pool is situated on the land of the Djaara people. The pool acknowledges and respects the Traditional Owners and their rich culture and spiritual connexion to the land.
