Cheston Farm Riding School Summer Holiday Kids and Teen Activities

Cheston Farm Riding School is the place to be this summer for all horse riding enthusiasts in Cheston. With a wide range of activities catering to kids aged 4-16, there's something fun happening every day from July to August.

No matter what level of rider you are, Cheston Farm has got you covered. They have a team of 25 horses and ponies, each of varying sizes from 13hh to 17hh. Whether you're a beginner looking to learn the basics or an advanced rider wanting to gallop and jump, their experienced instructors can help you reach your riding goals.

Sophie Osborne, a qualified BHSII BHSSM instructor, is the owner and manager of Cheston Farm. Alongside her team of dedicated humans and horses, she ensures that every rider has a comfortable and enjoyable experience. But they also take the welfare of their horses seriously. That's why they have weight limits for riders. Horses are advised to carry only 15% of their own body weight, so knowing your accurate weight is essential at the time of booking.

For adult lady beginner or novice riders, the weight limit is up to 13 stone (82 kg). Men, tall riders, and experienced lady riders can go up to 14 stone (90 kg) for the 17hh horses. When it comes to children, those under 12 must be under 9 stone (57 kg) to ride the ponies and smaller cob team. For those under 16, the weight limit is under 12 stone (75 kg).
