Welcome to Cheshire Karate Centres, one of the leading karate schools in Warrington since its founding in 1978. This martial arts club takes pride in providing a safe and engaging environment for students to develop their karate skills, talent, discipline, and respect.
At Cheshire Karate Centres, the instructors understand that each individual has their own unique way of learning, especially young children. Therefore, teaching methods are adapted to suit the person rather than the class, ensuring that every student can thrive and progress at their own pace.
Fitness and conditioning are given great emphasis in the training sessions, and many students of all ages come to the club specifically to keep fit under the expert guidance of the coaches. For individuals with busy lifestyles, private and small group tuition is available every day to accommodate their schedules.
Cheshire Martial Arts Centre is renowned for being one of the best venues in the country to practise the style of Shukokai Shitoryu Karate. The club is a proud member of the SSKA (Shukokai Shito-Ryu Karate-Do Association) and follows the traditional syllabus comprising gradings to monitor progress from beginner (White Belt) to the esteemed Black Belt.
The chief instructor of Cheshire Karate Centres is Paul Graham, a highly respected martial artist with a 9th Dan black belt in Shukokai and Shitoryu Karate. Paul has been involved in Karate for over 46 years and has learned from the great master Shigeru Kimura, one of the founding members of the style. Paul passed his 1st Dan Black Belt under the guidance of Master Kimura, and he has produced top-class students who have achieved success at National, European, World, and Commonwealth levels.
The club boasts a team of professional, friendly, and DBS checked instructors who have dedicated a significant portion of their lives to the practise of karate. They have received direct instruction from Chief Instructor Paul Graham, ensuring that students receive the highest-quality training.
Cheshire Karate Centres caters to different goals and interests of students. Some may opt to follow the traditional syllabus and work towards achieving their Black Belt, while others may choose the Sport Karate Programme, designed for those who wish to compete in karate tournaments and competitions at various levels, including domestic, national, and international.
The club offers classes at multiple locations and times to accommodate students from various areas of Warrington. These locations include Birchwood Tennis Centre, Orford Park, Jubilee Hub, Grangeway Community Centre, Woolston CP Primary School, Grappenhall Community Centre, Purple Gecko Karate Class, United Reform Church Ellesmere Port, and the 1st Floor of Evans House on Orford Lane.
