The Cheltenham Spa Bowling Club, founded in 1924, is a vibrant and inclusive lawn bowls club located in the beautiful Cotswolds town of Cheltenham. Situated in St George's Square, our club boasts a well-maintained bowling green and pavilion. We are affiliated with Bowls England and the Gloucestershire Bowling Association.

Voluntary labour plays a crucial role at Cheltenham Spa Bowling Club, with our dedicated members managing, operating, and maintaining the club and its green almost entirely. This commitment is reflected in our annual membership fees, which have been retained at 70 for the year 2023.
Recent achievements of our club include a successful open day, which saw numerous visitors trying their hand at bowls, including local MP Alex Chalk and Councillor Max Wilkinson. We also celebrated the opening of the green in 2023 with a fun tournament organised by our captains Robin Eeles and Susan Dixon.
The Spa Ladies displayed their dominance at the 2022 Ladies Festival, emerging victorious against three other clubs in a spirited competition. Additionally, we have recently acquired a defibrillator, thanks to the generosity of various sponsors and organisations, further enhancing the safety and well-being of our members.
The Cheltenham Spa Bowling Club is run by an Executive Committee and a Bowling Committee. The Executive Committee oversees the overall management and maintenance of the club, while the Bowling Committee is responsible for organising club matches and competitions.
The club's Executive Committee is led by Chairman Roy Collard, with Jeremy North serving as Secretary and Treasurer. Additional roles within the committee include Assistant Treasurer Jim Dixon, Bar Manager Trevor Ritchie, Green Manager Trevor Ritchie, Maintenance Manager Martin Thomas, Social Manager Liz Giles, and Club President John Salmon.
