Cheltenham Oval, located on Castle Howard Road in Beecroft, is a cricket ground that has recently undergone extensive improvements as part of the Sydney Metro North West Rail Line project. Collaborating with Hornsby Shire Council, local sporting groups, and Bushcare volunteers, Transport for NSW has transformed Cheltenham Oval into a state-of-the-art sports complex.

One of the standout features of the new facilities at Cheltenham Oval is the addition of three new multipurpose netball courts. These courts are carefully sized and marked to meet competitive netball standards and feature surface finishes that enhance gameplay. Floodlighting has been installed on all courts, enabling evening use and extending playing hours.

Cricket enthusiasts will also be delighted to find that two cricket nets and a run-up area have been resurfaced, allowing for improved training and practise sessions. These facilities are a testament to the commitment to promoting and nurturing cricket talent within the local community.

In addition to the sporting facilities, Cheltenham Oval now boasts a brand new playground area. Children can enjoy playing on a soft fall surface, providing a safe and enjoyable experience. The playground area is conveniently located near the netball courts and a new community building.

Speaking of the community building, it is situated to the north of the Oval and offers a range of amenities. It includes home and away team shower and changing rooms, separate referee changing rooms, and secure storage space for nominated sporting associations. Public toilet facilities are also available, and a canteen is on-site to provide refreshments during matches and events. Moreover, the multipurpose meeting space and storage area for Council maintenance equipment make this building a valuable asset for the community.

Access to Cheltenham Oval has been improved with an expanded car park area, providing ample parking spaces for visitors. The new car park is easily accessible from Castle Howard Road, making it convenient for spectators and participants to arrive and depart from the Oval.
