CheerSPORT, East Auckland's premier Contemporary Dance club, is excited to announce an upcoming event for all the All Star Cheerleaders out there! Get ready to showcase your skills and passion for dance in a safe and fun environment.
At CheerSPORT, athletes get to immerse themselves in a variety of activities including acrobatics, gymnastics, dance, and lifts. They work together to create a high-energy routine that lasts for 1 minute and 30 seconds. With teams available for Grades 1-6, athletes have the fantastic opportunity to learn and perform routines at exciting competitions while having an absolute blast.
Newcomers to CheerSPORT are greeted with open arms throughout the year, and absolutely no prior experience or skills are required to start cheerleading. Our experienced coaches will be there every step of the way, ensuring all athletes feel welcomed and supported. They'll even help you find a class buddy, so you'll never feel alone.
Classes at CheerSPORT kick off with a circle where coaches empower athletes with valuable life lessons and set goals for the day. Then it's time to start the fun with a lively warm-up sequence and dive straight into learning and perfecting those impressive lifts and tumbling skills for your routine. As the session draws to a close, athletes come together to piece together the different parts of their routine and practice performing it to popular music.
To ensure athletes have clear goals to aim for and a roadmap to success, we've developed the All Star Syllabus. This syllabus provides predetermined goals for each athlete and acts as a motivational tool to help track progress. Throughout the year, athletes will receive progress reports and certificates to mark their mastered skills. And when they've completed all the required skills, they'll receive a graduation certificate, allowing them to confidently move on to the next grade.
CheerSPORT classes are designed for everyone aged 5 and above. We offer classes for Minis (5-8 years), Juniors (7-14 years), Seniors (10–18 years), and Open classes. So, no matter your age, there's a class perfectly suited for you. Classes run for a 9-week term, and the cost varies based on the grade. Please note that there are additional costs for the competition uniform, but trust us, it's totally worth it when you see how fabulous you look on stage!
