Chard & District Riding for the Disabled Group takes great pride in organising riding sessions for physically and mentally challenged children and adults in the Chard, Axminster, Crewkerne, Ilminster and surrounding villages area. As a dedicated horse riding club, we strive to create a safe and enjoyable environment for all our participants.
It's important to note that our club is run entirely by volunteers who generously contribute their time and efforts. We are proud to be a registered charity, and all the activities we provide are made possible through fundraising and donations. This allows us to continue offering these enriching experiences to our incredible members.
Our riding sessions typically take place from March through to October or November each year. We believe in the transformative power of equestrian activities, and these sessions serve as an opportunity for individuals to connect with horses, improve their riding skills, and gain a sense of empowerment.
Currently, we have two wonderful venues where we offer these rides. The first is Drakes Farm, located in the scenic town of Ilminster. It provides a picturesque backdrop for our riders to enjoy the beauty of nature while connecting with our gentle equine companions. The second venue, Hillview, near Crewkerne, offers a tranquil setting where our participants can experience the joys of horse riding.
Whether you're a young child, a teenager, or an adult, we warmly welcome everyone to join us at Chard & District Riding for the Disabled Group. The benefits of horse riding go far beyond physical exercise – it promotes emotional well-being, builds confidence and self-esteem, and fosters a sense of camaraderie.
We are excited to invite you to our upcoming horse riding event. It will be an opportunity to witness the incredible achievements of our riders and experience the heartwarming atmosphere of our club. We encourage you to come and show your support for these remarkable individuals as they showcase their skills and determination.
By attending our event and sharing in the joy of horse riding, you will not only be supporting our club but also making a positive impact in the lives of our members. Your presence will make a difference, and we look forward to welcoming you to Chard & District Riding for the Disabled Group. Let's come together for an unforgettable day filled with love, laughter, and the magic of horse riding.
