Chapeltown Karate Club

Chapeltown Karate Club, located in the heart of Chapeltown, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, is a martial arts club, fitness centre, and self-defence school. Established in July 2001 by Sensei Gary Baker, a highly experienced 6th Dan Karate practitioner and former British Army member, the club prides itself on instilling discipline and helping students achieve their best potential.

At Chapeltown Karate Club (CKC), their mission is to not only teach karate but also to develop essential life skills such as self-discipline, motivation, fitness, balance, flexibility, focus, and coordination. The club caters to individuals of all ages, starting from children as young as 5 years old to adults. In fact, CKC has a diverse membership that includes men, women, parents, and even grandparents who actively train and prove that age is just a number when it comes to learning martial arts.

Classes take place at the club's dedicated venue located at 4 Burncross Road in Chapeltown. The easily accessible entrance is next to Come a Casa. CKC is conveniently situated approximately 1 mile from the M1 motorway, making it easily accessible for students from surrounding areas such as Wentworth, Grenoside, Thorpe Hesley, Deepcar, Stocksbridge, Wortley, Ecclesfield, Thurgoland, Hoyland, Sheffield Centre, and of course Chapeltown and High Green.

The class schedule at CKC is well-structured to cater to different age groups and skill levels. On Mondays, there is a dedicated New Starters Class for children aged 5 to 10 years old from 6:00 pm to 6:55 pm. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the club offers classes for both junior and senior grades. Junior grade class runs from 6:55 pm to 7:55 pm, while senior grade class takes place from 7:05 pm to 8:00 pm.
