Champions Flat Track School

Introducing Champions Flat Track School, the only flattrack school accredited by the Auto Cycle Union in New Zealand. They offer a range of courses, practise days/evenings, and private days for riders of all levels. Flattrack has been recognised by many MotoGP stars and World Champions as a valuable part of their training, and now non-racers, road riders, and beginners to off-road riding have the opportunity to learn new skills in the same way that Champions train.

Champions Flat Track School is the first school to let riders experience the exciting world of flattrack. The school provides a full day of riding, focusing on honing skills and having fun on dirt bikes around flat dirt ovals and TT tracks. Participants will be taught various techniques such as body position, backing the bike in on the rear brake, getting the bike low in the turns, and throttle control sliding out of the bends.

The school emphasises the need for riders to bring their own protective clothing, which can range from full leathers, kevlar and goretex clothing, to MX gear with back protection. Riders are also required to bring their own boots, helmets, and gloves, ensuring they are comfortable and properly protected while riding. The school will provide steel shoes, which fit over any boots, as well as the flat track bikes, track, and training in small groups. This allows for a high ratio of instructors to pupils, ensuring personalised attention and plenty of track time.

In addition to the outdoor track, Champions Flat Track School also offers training at their indoor track, available 6 days a week. This makes them the only school to offer year-round training opportunities. They also offer open training days, where riders can bring their own bikes or hire a bike and ride with star racers. For those who prefer a more private experience, the track can be privately hired for small groups who wish to ride together.
