CGM Pilates, Yoga, & Wellness in Maroochydore is hosting a local Pilates event specifically designed for mums-to-be. Known as CGM Mums, this event offers educated, safe, and fun movement for Sunshine Coast mums throughout all stages of pregnancy, including prenatal and postnatal.
Pilates and Yoga are some of the safest and most effective forms of exercise during pregnancy, which is why we offer small group classes tailored to each individual's needs. If you're a pregnant client, whether new or existing, it is required that you attend a 30-minute Prenatal Initial Consult before joining any of our classes. This consultation ensures that you receive the best care throughout your pregnancy, as we understand that every pregnancy is unique.
After your prenatal consult, you will have the opportunity to attend our regular Group Pilates, Barre, and Yoga classes, excluding Mat Pilates, which is not suitable for pregnancy. We closely monitor your progress and can recommend moving into Private Studio Pilates sessions if necessary. Your well-being and that of your baby are our top priorities.
If you're already 20 weeks pregnant or further along and interested in starting Pilates or Yoga, our Private Studio Pilates sessions are perfect for you. We offer 30-minute or 45-minute Pre-natal Private sessions with our highly trained Clinical Instructors, and you also have the option of attending duo sessions with a friend.
Once your doctor gives you clearance to return to exercise, usually around six weeks after giving birth, we recommend booking a 30-minute Postpartum Consult with us. During this session, we will provide guidance on your readiness to resume exercise. Our mums & bubs Reformer classes are an excellent starting point for postpartum clients.
To begin Pregnancy Pilates and Yoga with CGM, simply book a 30-minute Initial Consult. This consultation will involve reviewing your history, discussing your goals, assessing your movement and posture, addressing pelvic floor and core activation, and introducing you to the fundamentals of Pilates and Yoga.
For a more personalised approach, you may choose to work one-on-one with your CGM Pilates Instructor after completing the Initial Consult. Private sessions are recommended if you have any health concerns, are at high risk, or have restricted mobility and/or injuries. You can opt for either a 30-minute or 45-minute Private session, depending on your preferences.
New moms who are 6 weeks to 6 months post-birth and eager to get back into exercise can take advantage of our 30-minute Postnatal Consult. In this session, we will review your abdominal muscles for separation, screen for pelvic floor issues, and provide individual modifications to ensure a safe return to exercise. You are more than welcome to bring your newborn to the session.
Our Mums & Bubs Reformer Pilates classes are specifically designed for moms who have recently given birth. You can bring your baby to class and attend to their needs whenever necessary. These classes not only provide an effective full-body Pilates workout but also offer an opportunity to connect with other new moms.
