Paul wants to chat with the sports community about a few important tidbits about the Central Otago Swim Centres.
First off, if you're bringing young kids, ensure they've got a caregiver who's at least 16 years old with them in the pool. Safety first, folks!
When you rock up to the Central Otago Swimming Pool, you'll get a wristband to wear the whole time you're there. These bands help staff know who's who and make sure everyone's meant to be there. It's all about keeping the place safe and sound.
Got questions about pool rules, hours, fees, or any programmes? Check out the FAQs on the website. If you still need answers, just give the pool a ring or flick them an email.
In the summer, there's more action across the Central Otago Swim Centres. The Ranfurly, Millers Flat, Ophir Community, Ida MacDonald Roxburgh Community, and Alexandra Pools all have their hours set up for your convenience.
The Alexandra Pool’s been around since 2003 and can be found in Molyneux Park, just off Centennial Avenue. It has a 25-metre lap pool, a therapeutic/learners' pool, a spa pool, and an outdoor pool for summer. There's also a big grassy area for chilling out. Whether you're there for fun or fitness, they've got heaps of water-based activities: water workouts, swimming lessons, holiday programmes, and pool parties.
If you want to book a swim at Alexandra Pool, use the online form on the website. They're open Monday to Friday from 6 am to 7:30 pm, Saturday 9 am to 5 pm, and Sunday/holidays 10 am to 5 pm.
Over at the Cromwell Pool on Barry Avenue, which got a facelift in 2007, you'll find an indoor heated 25-metre lap pool, a therapeutic and learners' pool, a toddlers' pool, and a spa pool. There's also the NRG Health and Fitness Centre on site. They run things like aqua aerobics and swim classes all year- round.
You can also book a swim session at Cromwell Pool using the online form. Just keep an eye on availability during busy months on their pool bookings page. If you need to chat, give them a call or drop an email. NRG Health and Fitness Centre has separate contact details.
Regular swimmers, listen up! The Central Otago Swimming Pool has various membership options that come with perks like discounted rates, access to special areas, and priority booking. Membership forms are easy to find online for both the Cromwell and Alexandra Pools.
Paul reckons whether you’re in it for fun, fitness, or learning, the Central Otago Swim Centres have something for everyone. With top-notch facilities, a range of programmes, and awesome staff, these pools are a big win for the community.
