The Central Okanagan Youth Soccer Association (COYSA) in Kelowna is dedicated to developing positive experiences through teamwork and fair play. Located at Suite #188, 101-1865 Dilworth Drive, Kelowna, BC V1Y 9T1, COYSA can be contacted at 250-862-9243. COYSA offers a range of programs and services for soccer enthusiasts in the Central Okanagan area.
One of COYSA's popular programs is Mini Soccer for children aged U7-U10, with fields opening in mid-April. Schedules are posted before the first games, and a new rule for U10 and under games requires a kick-in restart when the ball goes out of bounds. Team formation is done by Clubs in the area, with a maximum of 16 players per team for U7/U8 and 14 players per team for U9/U10. Teams typically practice once a week and play games on Saturdays from early/mid-April to the end of June, with a break in summer and a return after Labour Day weekend until the year-end tournament before Thanksgiving.
COYSA provides all the necessary information for Mini Soccer on their website, including field set-up/take-down instructions, game field locations and addresses, and guidelines for lopsided games. Registration for U7-10 Mini outdoor soccer usually begins in December/January each year, so interested participants are encouraged to cheque the website for details. Coaches are not allowed on the field during games, and players are encouraged to help set up and put away equipment at all field locations.
In addition to Mini Soccer, COYSA offers various other services such as referee courses, RAMP Registration solutions, Official Assigning, RAMP Websites, and the RAMP Team App for seamless communication between coaches, parents, athletes, and fans. With a commitment to fostering a love for soccer and promoting sportsmanship, COYSA is a thriving soccer club in the Central Okanagan region.
