provide a diverse range of classes including pole, aerial, burlesque, and low flow choreography. The club also offers studio and equipment rentals for independent practice. The club's values are rooted in community activism, teamwork, and social wellness. CEAPAC acknowledges and honours the origins of pole and aerial arts, recognizing the contributions of sex workers and BIPOC to these industries.
Central Edmonton Aerial Performing Arts Club (CEAPAC) was founded by disenfranchised members of the aerial community in response to systemic issues of racism, colourism, and queerphobia in established studios. The club was created as an alternative space run by marginalized individuals, with a focus on community, activism, and inclusion. Today, CEAPAC is one of the few aerial spaces in Canada operated by BIPOC and queer individuals.
The mission of CEAPAC is to promote diversity and inclusion in aerial performing arts by providing a training space for dancers, aerialists, and performers. As a non-profit organization, CEAPAC aims to foster holistic well-being by offering opportunities for community engagement, education, and physical fitness. The club prioritizes conflict resolution, trauma-informed care, and social activism, creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all members.
CEAPAC collaborates with local and visiting instructors to offer a wide range of classes and workshops, catering to all levels and styles of aerial arts. Whether you are a beginner looking to try a new form of dance or a seasoned performer seeking to expand your skills, CEAPAC welcomes everyBODY to join in the joy of aerial arts.
