About
Jon wanted to share a few updates about Centennial Park in the heart of Altona. This place has always been a community hub, and Jon's excited to see more folks enjoying it.
First off, the aquatic centre is still a favourite with its big swimming pool, water slides, and splash pad for the kiddos. It's the perfect spot for families to cool off on hot summer days. Jon mentioned they've got swimming lessons and aqua fitness classes too for anyone looking to up their game in the water.
Next to the pool, the baseball field is where local teams get competitive. There are bleachers for the fans, and batting cages and pitching mounds for players to work on their skills. It's a space for everyone, whether you're a seasoned player or just starting out.
For the little ones, there's a playground that’s always buzzing. It's all about climbing, sliding, and swinging with safety in mind. Parents can chill on nearby benches while the kids burn off some energy.
One thing Jon really loves is the modern stage area. Throughout the year, it hosts live performances, community events, and cultural celebrations. Equipped with sound and lighting, it’s a great stage for local artists to shine.
And let’s not forget the tennis courts. They're in top shape, surrounded by greenery, making it the perfect spot for a match or some coaching sessions.
Centennial Park really has a bit of everything - swimming, baseball, concerts, tennis - you name it. Jon thinks it’s a special place in Altona’s recreational scene. So if you haven't already, head over to Centennial Park and check it all out.
