Cat Track Lodge is a remote fly-in fishing camp located on the central west shoreline of Ontario's famous Lake Savant. Established in 1965 by Dale and Carol Staimbrook, the lodge is now owned and operated by Jess Houtz (great granddaughter of the founders) and her husband Jamie Houtz. With almost 60 years of combined experience and knowledge of Lake Savant, the team at Cat Track Lodge is dedicated to preserving the quality fishery, abundant wildlife, and natural beauty of the area.
Guests at Cat Track Lodge can enjoy the scenic beauty of true wilderness while fishing for Walleye, Lake Trout, and Northern Pike. The Walleye fishing is top-notch, with fish averaging in the 17" to 22" range. Northern Pike can be found in the 25" to 30" range, with some exceeding 40". Lake Savant is known for its excellent Lake Trout fishing, with fish averaging around 8 lbs.
In addition to fishing, Cat Track Lodge also offers Moose hunts with high success rates. The lodge is a great base for Moose hunting, with hundreds of miles of shoreline to explore. Non-resident or resident rifle tags for Bull, Cow, and Calf Moose in WMU 16B are available.
Accommodation options at Cat Track Lodge include five cabins of various sizes, which can accommodate groups between 4 to 14 people. All cabins are fully equipped for housekeeping, with some featuring showers and a central showerhouse facility available onsite.
Guests can reach Cat Track Lodge via a flight with Rusty Myers Flying Service on Sturgeon Lake near the town of Savant Lake.
