Carlisle Radio Model Car Club - Down-a-Gate Raceway

Races and events at the Down-a-Gate Raceway in Carlisle, New Zealand. The track is an outdoor asphalt track that operates from April to October each year. It is located in Warwick Bridge, just 4 miles from the M6 (Jct 43) and is easily accessible from the East via the A69.

The track itself was constructed in 2001 and features tarmac with concrete curbs and a grass infield. It provides a challenging and exciting racing experience for RC enthusiasts of all abilities. The location of the track in an idyllic countryside setting offers ample parking and a community centre on-site.

At Carlisle Radio Model Car Club, they strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for RC racing enthusiasts. They encourage new members to join and offer a club car, a Tamiya M-05, for anyone who wants to try RC racing but is not sure if it's for them. The club car comes fully equipped and members receive support and guidance from experienced club members.

In addition to regular races, the CRMMC also organises various events and social gatherings throughout the year. The club aims to provide a fun and enjoyable experience for all participants, whether they are seasoned racers or beginners.

To ensure the safety and well-being of all participants, the club has established Covid-19 guidelines. These guidelines include bringing personal protective equipment such as hi-viz vests, gloves, facemasks, hand sanitiser, and surface wipes. Participants are also encouraged to bring essential items like a sense of humour, patience, and a gazebo/shelter to ensure social distancing.
