With British Cycling, we also have regular race meetings at Bristol, as well as facilities like pump tracks in Cardiff and a fully developed Race Track in Llynfi. We strive to provide a range of events and opportunities for riders of all levels, from complete beginners to international competitors.
The vision of Cardiff BMX Racing Club is to introduce as many people as possible within Cardiff and the surrounding area to the sport of BMX Racing. Our ultimate goal is to establish an International Standard facility within Cardiff by 2020, with the aim of hosting a UCI or UEC event within five years.
Located at the Maindy Centre in Cardiff, Cardiff BMX Racing Club is the hub for BMX racing in and around Cardiff. Supported by funding and resources from the HSBC Go Ride scheme, our club aims to promote BMX racing, offer training sessions, and provide a pathway for riders looking to advance their skills.
The club is led by a dedicated team, including Hugh Copping as the Club Chairman, Will Soffe as the Go-Ride Coach, Gideon Jones as the Club Secretary, Steve Martin as the Safeguarding Officer, and Emma Jones as the Club Treasurer. Each member brings their own unique expertise and passion for BMX racing to ensure the club runs smoothly and provides a safe and enjoyable environment for all members.
Membership at Cardiff BMX Racing Club gives access to all club sessions with coaching from registered coaches. Non-members can also participate in coaching sessions, but members receive significant discounts. We encourage members to get involved in the running of the club and to participate in club, regional, and national races. With a wealth of BMX knowledge within the club, riders of all ages can receive guidance and support to achieve their racing goals.
Membership fees are 5 for individuals and 15 for a family of four, which includes access to all club sessions. There is a small fee of 1 to ride the track during un-coached, social evenings and 3 for a coached session. Individual membership is available for 6 per year, and family membership for 16 per year.
