

Canterbury Netball Club Inc is a prominent netball club based in Balwyn North, known for its dedication to developing the skills of players of all ages. Established in 2019 by three passionate friends, Judi Wittingslow, Gayle Lambert, and Danielle Tyson, the club provides a competitive and child-safe environment for athletes to flourish.
The mission of Canterbury Netball Club is to foster the growth of netball skills among players, umpires, and officials within a team-oriented atmosphere. The club aims to create an environment that not only enhances individual abilities but also promotes healthy competition.
At the helm of the club's operations is a dedicated committee. Under the leadership of President Judi Wittingslow, the committee ensures the smooth functioning of the club. Treasurer Danielle Tyson oversees the financial aspects, while Judi Wittingslow and Leonie Curulli co-coordinate the coaching efforts. Martine Luckman and Megan Solomon form part of the general committee, with Amanda Woodhead serving as the administrator.
Eugenie Douglas takes charge of the uniform coordination.
Canterbury Netball Club prides itself on its highly accredited and experienced coaching team. Led by head coach Leonie Curulli, who has been the Boroondara Power Representative Coach since 2016, the coaching team imparts their expertise to players. Mikaela Stanaway, an accredited coach with experience as the Boroondara Power Representative Coach and the Netball Coordinator at Fintona Girls School, contributes to the coaching staff. Judi Wittingslow, an accomplished coach and mentor, and Danielle Tyson, a State League player and coach with a wealth of experience, complete the coaching team.
Sofia Rossi, a recent addition to the coaching staff, brings her expertise as the Boroonara Power Representative Coach.
Canterbury Netball Club also offers opportunities for young players to develop umpiring skills. Players aged 13 or in Year 7 can work as umpires, providing them with valuable experience, skill enhancement, and the chance to earn pocket money. The Boroondara Netball Association has an umpire training programme that enables trainee umpires to gain paid experience and undergo umpire badge testing.
The club expresses its gratitude to its sponsors, including the Luckman, Brown, Board, Rogers, and Cameron families, whose support has allowed Canterbury Netball Club to provide essential equipment, miscellaneous items, appreciation gifts for umpires and coaches, accredited courses for further qualifications, and venue hire. The club also acknowledges Richard Wilson for generously providing the venue for the Canterbury Netball Club Presentation in 2019.
All games take place at the Boroondara Netball Centre, located in Macleay Park, Balwyn. This state-of-the-art facility provides a top-notch playing environment for all club members.
