Welcome to Chase Trails, a local volunteer group that has been in operation for over 20 years. In partnership with Forestry England, the group is dedicated to building and maintaining the mountain bike trails on Cannock Chase, located in Staffordshire, England.
Cannock Chase is known for its award-winning and highly popular mountain bike trails, including the Follow the Dog and Monkey Trail. Additionally, Stile Cop offers thrilling downhill trails for those seeking an adrenaline rush. The combination of hand-built and contractor-built trails on Cannock Chase has required an impressive 35,000 man-hours from dedicated volunteers, equivalent to around 4 years of continuous work.
The existence of these mountain bike trails is made possible through the help of volunteers like you. If you're interested in contributing, come along and join the group as they work on both new and existing trails. Meetings take place regularly outside Cannock Chase Cycle Centre at Birches Valley. As a token of appreciation, all volunteers are provided with a free day parking pass.
This means that after assisting in the morning, you can enjoy a free afternoon ride!
To keep track of Chase Trails' recent work and stay up to date, be sure to follow the group on their social media channels. You'll find frequent updates and insights into their ongoing projects.
For mountain bike enthusiasts, it's important to note the current status of the trails. Follow the Dog is currently open, while the Monkey Trail is partly open due to ongoing harvesting works. Some sections are temporarily closed until repairs are completed. Perry's Trail and Stile Cop are both open for riders to enjoy.
