Canberra Sunday Bike Hash, formerly known as 'The Midnight Nude Bike Hash,' is Canberra's oldest, biggest, and friendliest social cycling club. This sports club offers a unique and enjoyable cycling experience for cyclists of all levels.
The club meets on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month at 10:30 AM for their rides. The rides typically last around an hour or two and follow a friendly course, following the familiar hash run format. Riders can expect to follow a trail, participate in a circle, partake in down-downs, and enjoy the usual hash nonsense.
The starting point for the rides is the Lighthouse at 80 Emu Bark Belconnen. The hare for the upcoming ride is “Feels Longer. ” To participate, riders can email “Feels Longer” to confirm their attendance.
The cost to join the Canberra Sunday Bike Hash is $10 per person, which also covers the purchase of grog for the bucket or over the bar, depending on the venue's rules. Non-riders are especially welcome to join the club and participate in the social aspects of the events.
It's worth noting that the preferred drink of the Canberra Sunday Bike Hash is the classic Gin & Tonic.
The club has also applied to the Guinness Book of Records, seeking recognition as the oldest and biggest social cycling club in Canberra, but is currently awaiting ratification.
For those interested in volunteering to hare a ride or joining the club's mismanagement team, there is an email provided for further inquiries.
Canberra Sunday Bike Hash is affiliated with the ACT Clubs Hash Calendar and can be found on their website, along with other regional hash clubs.
