Canadian Dance Assembly

Canadian Dance Assembly (CDA) is a vibrant dance school located in Toronto, dedicated to steering the national dialogue on dance practices towards equity, access, and belonging. Through a variety of conferences, workshops, and gatherings, CDA works with members and national dance stakeholders from across the provinces and territories to build a dynamic network of communities committed to all forms of dance.

As a people-powered platform, CDA connects dance communities, shares knowledge, and addresses government policies to keep dancers informed and empowered. Members of CDA have access to a thriving dance network that spans all of Canada, providing opportunities for collaboration, learning, and advocacy within the dance community.

CDA is actively involved in supporting dancers through initiatives such as the Canadian Performing Arts Workers Resilience Fund, which provides financial assistance to dancers in need. The school also collaborates with organizations like The AFC Reactivation Program, offering information sessions to help dancers access funding and resources to support their careers.

In addition to financial support, CDA offers a diverse range of workshops and events for dancers to enhance their skills and expand their knowledge. Workshops like Conflict Parts 1 & 2, co-developed and facilitated by industry experts, provide participants with tools to navigate conflict, improve communication, and strengthen relationships within the dance community.

Furthermore, CDA's Dance Across Canada Interactive Map helps dancers locate dance companies, venues, training facilities, and infrastructure that support dance across the country.
