About

Cambridge '99 Rowing Club, also known as NINES, is a prestigious rowing club located in Cambridge, East Anglia. Established in 1899, it is one of the largest and most competitive rowing clubs in the area, providing opportunities for rowers of all skill levels and aspirations. Whether you have dreams of rowing at the international level or simply want to row casually for fun and fitness, Cambridge '99 Rowing Club has a place for you.

One of the standout features of the club is its exceptional boathouse, which is situated on the banks of the River Cam. Boasting top-notch facilities, the boathouse includes a boat bay, two training rooms, a bar, lounge, separate changing facilities for men and women, as well as toilets and showers. Members are provided with key cards for easy access to the boathouse at any time. The boathouse offers stunning views across the water and is conveniently located less than 100 metres from the renowned Cambridge University Goldie Boathouse.

Prospective members are always welcome to visit the boathouse, but it is recommended to contact one of the club captains beforehand to arrange a tour. They will be more than happy to show you around and answer any questions you may have.

Cambridge '99 Rowing Club is dedicated to providing its members with top-notch training facilities. The club has a well-lit and ventilated training room on the first floor, equipped with 16 ergometers, free weights including Olympic bars and bench press, two watt bikes, and a stretching area. Downstairs, there is a multi-gym with a power rack, leg-press machine, dips & pull-up bars, and more. The club offers a weights training scheme to help members develop essential strength and provides different core circuits based on individual ability.

Coxes also have access to a dedicated room equipped with cox boxes and orbs, headsets, and tool kits.

The club's fleet is designed to meet the demands of both sculling and sweep events. In the boat bays, there are eights, fours (both bowloaders and sternloaders), and pairs. For sculling, there are quads, doubles, and single sculls. Additionally, there are tubs and four Explorer sculling boats available for learn-to-row sessions and technique improvement.
