Cachalot Charters, based in Ryde, offers an incredible fishing experience for anglers of all skill levels. Husband and wife team, Chris and Priscilla Solomon, own and operate the charter, ensuring that every passenger has a memorable and enjoyable day at sea. The “Robert Mark,” a 34ft Starfish charter boat, is skippered by Adam, Chris' son, with Chris providing assistance.

The “Robert Mark” is licenced for twelve people and is fully equipped and inspected annually to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers. It features essential amenities such as a toilet, galley, fore cabin, and cabin, providing a comfortable and convenient experience. Cachalot Charters also supplies bait, rods, and reels, ensuring that all anglers have the necessary equipment for a successful fishing trip.

Whether you're a seasoned angler or a complete novice, Cachalot Charters welcomes you on board. They offer tuition for beginners, helping them learn the ropes and improve their fishing skills. Cachalot Charters offers a range of trips, including 2-hour Mackerel trips, deep-sea trips lasting 4, 6, or 8 hours, and specialised longer trips. They have received a 5-star review rating on Tripadvisor, showcasing their commitment to providing exceptional fishing experiences.

In addition to summer, Cachalot Charters operates from September to December, specialising in Cod fishing. They are located at Bembridge Marina, conveniently situated off the Embankment Road in Bembridge, Isle of Wight. The Marina offers ample parking space for visitors.

The charter's opening times during the summer are from 10 am to 4 pm. However, bookings can be made by phone throughout the year. Cachalot Charters believes in providing excellent customer service and keeping their customers informed. In case of any changes due to weather conditions, they now offer text notifications for the next scheduled trip. Customers can request to be added to the regular list of trip dates by texting their contact number to Cachalot Charters. They are also requested to inform whether they are available for trips on weekdays or weekends.

Cachalot Charters is excitedly looking forward to the 2024 season after the challenges faced in 2023 due to inclement weather. Fish catches showed improvement, with Mackerel being abundant for most of the year, starting after Easter. Rays were caught and released in great numbers, with one Male Thornback Ray being tagged and recaptured in the North Sea, proving the effectiveness of the tagging scheme for conservation efforts. Tope and Smoothhounds were also plentiful, providing thrilling fishing experiences.

The charter remains hopeful for Cod catches this winter, despite the weather affecting trips.
