Join the BWF Wado Ryu Karate courses in Somerset with Swift Hanshi teaching. The first course will be held next weekend at the Bradford On Tone dojo and will focus on Kushanku kata. The second course will take place in December at the SWKA dojo in Taunton, featuring the key Wado Ryu sets of Ohyu Gumite & Kihon Gumite. Both courses provide an excellent opportunity to learn and train in traditional Wado Ryu Karate.
Stuart, a club instructor from Momiji-Dojo, trains at the SWKA dojo and helps with teaching karate sessions for all ages. The SWKA dojo offers a great space for karate training. Although training has been conducted online and in parks due to the pandemic, students can finally return to the dojo at the Bradford On Tone village hall, near Wellington, Somerset. The dojo has a recently refurbished sprung wooden floor, kitchen facilities, and an old-world atmosphere.
The club is hoping that the Kushanku Kata course with Sensei Swift Hanshi will still proceed in a few weeks' time, albeit with limited attendance numbers to comply with social distancing guidance. Currently, the club conducts regular weekly sessions for juniors, beginners, adults, and teens. Other local club members are also welcome to join the sessions.
The club is eagerly awaiting the opportunity to train together in person at the Bradford On Tone village hall dojo, while ensuring necessary measures are in place for social distancing. Unfortunately, the club had to cancel/postpone its May Wado Ryu Karate course with Swift Hanshi, but there are plans to reschedule the advanced kata course for later in the year. Stay tuned for updates!
