Paul here would like to share some exciting news about what's been happening at Burwain Sailing Club. We're thrilled to welcome sailors of all levels. Whether you're a complete beginner keen to pick up the basics or a seasoned sailor looking for some competitive action, Burwain has something for everyone.
One of the highlights at Burwain are the Learn 2 Sail training programmes. These sessions cater to both adults and juniors, helping adults achieve RYA levels 1 and 2, whilst juniors can work through RYA Stages 1 to 4. There are also improver classes and learn-to-race sessions to keep everyone progressing.
For our younger members, the Sailfish Club is a big hit. It offers fun and structured classes for kids aged 8 and up, making it a great way for them to get involved. Plus, the club hosts a range of racing events, regattas, and open events throughout the year for those with a competitive streak.
But it’s not all about sailing. Burwain also offers membership packages for Stand-Up Paddle Boarding (SUP). Enjoy paddling year-round at Burwain, taking in the serene surroundings and peaceful waters.
Paul is really proud of the inclusive and vibrant community at Burwain. The club welcomes everyone, from those who've never been on the water to those looking to return after a break. With a variety of activities and training options, there's something here for everyone.
Conveniently located in Foulridge, Lancashire, the club is easily accessible from both Lancashire and West Yorkshire. Run by its dedicated members, Burwain boasts top-notch facilities and a friendly atmosphere. The clubhouse is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 noon, and dinghy boats are available for hire.
