Stage 84's Drama Workshops in Burley-in-Wharfedale are a must for anyone looking to explore and develop their acting and drama skills. Held at the Queen's Hall, this spacious venue provides the perfect environment for students to immerse themselves in the world of drama.
The Autumn term at Stage 84 is all about learning and honing specific skills. From improvisation to audition techniques, camera work to script reading, students will have the chance to delve into various aspects of drama. And that's not all! They'll also get to try their hand at choral speaking, verse speaking, mime techniques, and even explore the works of Shakespeare. It's a comprehensive program designed to nurture their talent and creativity.
Come Winter term, students will have the opportunity to dive deep into a chosen play or scripted piece. Working alongside experienced Drama tutors in groups, they will rehearse selected extracts or scenes from the play. These extracts will then be performed at a competitive drama festival, where they will be assessed by experienced adjudicators. And the cherry on top? Exceptional performances have the chance to win students prestigious places and trophies!
As we move into the Spring/Summer term, it's time to prepare for a graded group examination with the esteemed Trinity College London examination board. This exam takes place in July, and Stage 84, as a registered examination centre, offers comfortable and well-equipped studio spaces for the exams. We're proud to say that Stage 84 has maintained a 100% pass rate since 1984, with remarkable achievements such as receiving the highest mark in Great Britain for a Group Drama exam at Grade 6 in 2006. Our students were also honoured with a prestigious Exhibition Award by Trinity College London.
