The Bujinkan Jervis Dojo, based in Manchester, focuses on Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu, sometimes known as Ninjutsu or Ninjitsu. Adrian Jervis, who runs the dojo, wants everyone to know that this martial art is more than just self-defence; it’s a way to train body and mind.
Adrian’s journey began with Judo and Jujutsu during his younger years. Discovering Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu at Nottingham University, he trained under various instructors before establishing his dojo. With a 15th dan ranking, Adrian's training accolades include recommendations from Nagato Sensei, Noguchi Sensei, and Brian Sensei, among others.
The dojo teaches a blend of Ninja and Samurai traditions dating back over 700 years. Unlike typical sports, there are no competitions; the focus is on practical skills for real-world situations. Students start with taijutsu — unarmed body movement — before moving on to weapons training as they progress.
Classes are held every Wednesday evening at the Ten Acres Lane Sports Centre in Manchester, open to both beginners and seasoned martial artists. Adrian aims to provide a comprehensive martial arts education, preserving the essence of Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu.
If you’re keen to develop solid self-defence skills and delve into a rich martial arts tradition, the Bujinkan Jervis Dojo is the place to be.
