Located in Brighton, the dojo offers a unique opportunity to delve into the ancient art of Ninjutsu, a practical and effective form of self-defence. Officially licenced by the Bujinkan, this school is steeped in a rich history that spans over 900 years, combining the wisdom of Ninja and Samurai warriors.
At Bujinkan Brighton Dojo, Jake ensures the martial arts experience is interesting and enjoyable. He emphasises the importance of a friendly atmosphere and believes that incorporating elements of fun can help students progress more quickly.
Since its establishment in 1972, the Bujinkan has been the leading modern Ninjutsu organisation globally, initiated by Grandmaster Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi. Today, it has over 300,000 members worldwide, and Jake is proud to bring this tradition to Brighton.
The dojo offers various courses for beginners, including taster classes and four-week courses. These classes provide a comprehensive introduction to Bujinkan Ninjutsu and Samurai martial arts, as well as essential self-defence techniques. To register, you can get in touch with the dojo via email.
Jake, who holds a 15th Dan - Shihan rank, is directly licenced by Dr. Hatsumi to teach these skills. His expertise helps students learn to defend themselves while improving their fitness, flexibility, balance, and mental focus.
Training at Bujinkan Brighton Dojo covers a range of techniques, both armed and unarmed. Students practise defending against punches, kicks, and multiple attackers in an informal environment. The emphasis is always on good health and injury prevention.
For more information and updates, you can visit the Bujinkan Brighton Dojo Facebook page or follow them on Twitter. The school also provides links to other Bujinkan Dojos across the UK and internationally.
Ninjutsu is a martial art focused on self-defence, utilising clever techniques, controlled balance, and striking weak points rather than relying on strength. As such, competitions are neither possible nor recommended.
Jake Sharpstone invites individuals of all ages and fitness levels to join Bujinkan Brighton Dojo and embark on a journey of self-discovery, self-defence, and personal growth through the art of Ninjutsu.
