For those who prefer day tickets, they are still available, but please note that they can only be obtained after 8am. Additionally, it's important to keep in mind that all anglers must conclude their fishing activities before dark, except for Night Syndicate members. The car park gate opens at 8am and closes at 5pm, so plan your fishing adventures accordingly.
If you have junior anglers under the age of 14 accompanying you, remember that they must be under adult supervision for their safety. We want to ensure a fun and secure experience for everyone involved.
As for the fishing conditions at Buckley ANGLING ASSOCIATION, they are currently exceptional, particularly at the Trap pool. Anglers have reported significant catches of F1 carp and skimmers, mostly from deep water. The feeder and method feeder fishing techniques have proven to be highly successful, with pleasure weights ranging from 30lb to 60lb. In fact, in a recent winter league match, the winning catch weighed an impressive 33lb, including F1 carp, Bream, and a Perch.
For those interested in carp fishing, the most consistent pegs to catch them are 2 to 11 and 13 to 16. However, don't worry if you can't secure those spots, as good weights have also been reported from other areas of the pool, such as pegs 32, 33, the Island, and 42. Aside from carp, anglers can also expect to catch perch and roach in large numbers using the pole fishing method. Although these species may not guarantee a winning catch in competitions, they certainly add to the overall fishing experience.
To maximise your chances of success, we recommend using corn, pellet, worm, or maggots as bait. And remember, it's vital to ensure that your fishing nets are either dipped or completely dry before use. We have also implemented a new rule that requires F1 carp to be placed in a separate net from silvers, and carp should not be placed in a net at all. We recently stocked the pool with 1000 F1 carp, and they are starting to appear in significant numbers, especially in the shallow pegs.
