Located in Forest Glen, Bubble 'n' Kick Swim School is a swimming facility dedicated to empowering the community through water education. Their mission is to make swimming and water safety accessible to everyone, regardless of age, ability, or disability.
The Learn to Swim Programme at Bubble 'n' Kick Swim School is designed to cater to different age groups and skill levels. For babies aged 4 months to 2 years, the classes focus on water familiarisation and safety skills. These classes provide a bonding experience for parents and children, improve gross motor skills and coordination development, and offer social interaction with other children of similar ages. Classes in the Waterbabies, Aquatots, and Jellyfish levels are limited to 4 students per class.
As children grow and gain confidence in the water, they transition to the Learn to Swim Programme for children aged 2 to 2. 5 years. These lessons promote independence and further develop swimming fundamentals as children progress into stroke development levels around 3. 5 years.
The programme focuses on building swim fitness, coordination, and stroke proficiency across three levels. Students who reach the milestones of each level achieve the National Benchmarks of Swimming and Water Safety before they start Prep. Classes in the Squid to Turtle levels are capped at 3 students per class.
Once students reach the higher levels of the Learn to Swim Programme, they have the opportunity to join the Transition Programme. This programme challenges students to enhance their stroke techniques in the lap pool, building endurance and swim fitness. Students who complete the Transition Programme officially graduate from the Learn to Swim Programme. Sessions in the Transition Programme are limited to 8 students per instructor/coach.
Bubble 'n' Kick Swim School also offers the Aquatic Adventurers Programme, which provides students with the practical application of water safety skills under the supervision of senior instructors. This programme takes students to various local Sunshine Coast locations, teaching them about different environments, potential hazards, and how to keep calm and deal with them. By instilling these skills at a young age, Bubble 'n' Kick Swim School aims to create a water safe community.
For those interested in swimming as a physical activity and social outlet, the Development Squad programme is available. This programme challenges students in aspects such as distance, speed, coordination, and strength, but without the pressure and criticism commonly associated with competitive swimming. Students in the Development Squad programme gain well-rounded stroke technique, water safety and survival skills, and swim fitness, enabling them to pursue any aquatic sport, hobby, or activity they wish.
