Welcome to Bruthen Bowling Club, your community gathering place for the most enjoyable lawn bowls experience imaginable. Located in the picturesque East Gippsland Shire, Bruthen Bowling Club has a rich history dating back to 1950.
Originally, seven Bruthen ladies had to travel on bumpy dirt roads to Lakes Entrance just to play bowls. Determined to have a club closer to home, they formed the Bruthen Ladies Club. However, it was decided that the club would be a “Mixed Club” as there was no concept of a Ladies Only Club at the time. The ladies acquired the land, which was formerly the town cemetery, and raised funds through raffles and street stalls to establish a clubhouse and green.
Thanks to the vision and hard work of these dedicated ladies and men, Bruthen Bowling Club thrives today. We are grateful for their contributions and continue to uphold their legacy.
At Bruthen Bowling Club, we pride ourselves on our friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Our social life is enormous, with the club catering to all members of the community.
