Join the Brunswick Free Salsa, Cuban Salsa, and Bachata Classes hosted by Salsa in Motion Point Cook every Wednesday starting from February 21, 2024. The classes will no longer include Bachata due to time constraints, but you can still enjoy learning Cuban Salsa and Rueda De Casino.
The classes will be held at Brunswick Uniting Church Hall, located at 214 Sydney Rd, Brunswick. To enter the hall, simply take the path left of the church and go through the metal fence gate.
The program for 2024 includes:
- 6.30PM – 7.00PM: A free Salsa class open to the community. This introductory session covers the basics and turns of Salsa and provides an opportunity to practice dancing with a partner.
— 7.00PM – 8.00PM: Beginner Cuban Salsa for those at the Beginner to Improver Level. Prior knowledge of basic steps is required, and all new beginners must attend the Free 6.30pm class before joining.
- 8.15PM – 9.00PM: A Beginner to Improver Level Bachata class. No experience is necessary, and no partner is required.
- 9.15PM – 10.15PM: Intermediate Cuban Salsa (Rueda De Casino). This class focuses on Rueda, a fun dance where dance couples form a circle and a caller directs various Cuban Salsa figures for the dancers to perform.
The pricing includes a casual rate of $20 per main class or $30 for any 2 main classes on the night. All 3 classes can be attended for $35. Dance card holders can enjoy one extra class for $10 per main class or two for $15.
Cash and EFTPOS (Visa or Mastercard) payments are accepted with a 1.9% credit card surcharge.
For attire, it is recommended to wear comfortable casual clothing and low or flat smooth sole shoes. High heels, sandals, and track shoes are not advised for beginners to prevent injury.
Participants with health conditions or on medication should consult with a doctor before joining classes. COVID precautions are in place, so individuals with flu-like symptoms or feeling unwell should not attend classes.
