Broughton Skatepark, the local skateboarding club in Chester, is thrilled to invite all skate enthusiasts to join in the festivities to celebrate the completion and official opening of the brand-new skate park facility at the community park in Broughton.
Initiated by two talented local youngsters, Ryan Lavender and Aaron Sibley, who approached the community council with their dream almost two years ago, this skate park has been a labour of passion and dedication. Impressed by their determination, the council decided to lend its full support to the project.
With the invaluable assistance of the youth club and the amazing Sue Gilligan, Ryan and Aaron crafted a heartfelt letter to the council, expressing the need for a skate park in the area. Their enthusiasm didn't end there; they even attended a crucial meeting back in late 2008 to personally present their case.
Coming together with the community, the dream became a reality when the skate park received funding from the construction of new houses nearby. Additionally, Flintshire County Council stepped in to offer their expert guidance in determining the park's design. Importantly, the plans were shown to the local children and only put into action once they gave their enthusiastic approval. After navigating the planning process successfully, the park was finally given the green light.
This remarkable journey, from idea to execution, took less than two years, which is quite impressive. Now, it's time to celebrate this accomplishment, and what better way to do so than by showcasing your skateboarding skills and joining us for the grand opening of this exciting new skate park?
