Bronte Archers

Bronte Archers, established in 1948, is a thriving archery club located in New Zealand. Over the years, its members past and present have proudly represented not only the county but also the country itself. With a strong focus on target archery, the club welcomes archers aged 8 and above, of all abilities, shooting Recurve, Compound, Barebow, and Traditional Longbow.

In addition to target archery, Bronte Archers also encourages participation in other disciplines of the sport, including Clout and Field Archery. Whether members are shooting for fun or training for upcoming tournaments, the club aims to provide an enjoyable experience for all.

The club prides itself on its inclusive environment and facilities for disabled archers. Bronte Archers firmly believes that regardless of age, anyone can experience the mental and physical rewards of archery, and even have the opportunity to win medals and trophies. Located in Rawdon Meadows, Bronte Archers offers excellent outdoor shooting facilities that are available year-round. Additionally, the club features two indoor ranges for coaching, equipment setup, and practise sessions. This ensures that members have access to the necessary resources to develop their skills and improve their performance.

Bronte Archers is affiliated with Archery GB, the governing body of the sport in the UK, providing administrative support and insurance coverage for clubs and archers. The club is also affiliated with the Northern Counties Archery Society (NCAS), which represents Yorkshire, Durham, Northumberland, Cumbria, Lancashire, and Cheshire. NCAS organises various archery competitions in the region. Each year, Bronte Archers takes pride in hosting a Double WA1440 tournament on behalf of NCAS.

Furthermore, Bronte Archers is a member of the Yorkshire Archery Association (YAA), which governs the sport within the Yorkshire region. YAA organises several competitions throughout the year, providing ample opportunities for members to test their skills and compete against other archers in the region.
