Bromyard Bowmen

Bromyard Bowmen Archery Club, located in Bromyard, is a welcoming community where people of all ages and abilities can enjoy the sport of archery. With members ranging from 8 to 80 years old, the club includes both disabled and able-bodied archers shooting together.

As an affiliated club of Archery GB, Bromyard Bowmen follows recognised procedures and disciplines, ensuring a safe and professional environment for all. Qualified coaches are on hand to offer support when needed.

The club boasts its own purpose-built shooting hall, used mainly during the winter or when the weather is poor. Over the summer, from May to September, sessions are held outside on the rugby pitch, letting members enjoy the outdoors.

Club sessions run on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings from 6:30 pm to 9 pm, and on Sunday afternoons from 2 pm. These sessions take place at The Clive Richards Sports Ground on Tenbury Road, just outside Bromyard, alongside Bromyard Rugby Club and Bromyard Bowls Club. The clubhouse is behind the Rugby Clubhouse; look for the Rugby posts on the right-hand side of the B4214 road, as some SatNavs might direct you beyond the sports ground.

Target archery is the main focus at Bromyard Bowmen, with men shooting at distances up to 100 yards and women up to 80 yards. Juniors have shorter distances based on their age. All bow styles are welcome, including Olympic-style Recurve, Compound, Longbow, and Barebow.

To join, individuals must complete a Beginners Course, which consists of three sessions held over three consecutive Saturday mornings, three or four times a year. All three sessions must be attended to pass the course. More details can be found on the club’s website.
