Broadwater Aikido, a vibrant Aikido club based in Runaway Bay, Queensland, invites all passionate players to join them for their upcoming Mixed Martial Arts event. In light of the cancellation of major events, Broadwater Aikido has decided to bring the excitement and energy of training to their home dojo. Located at the Runaway Bay Community Centre, this dedicated club is affiliated with Aiki Kai Australia, ensuring top-notch training and expertise.

To maintain a COVIDSafe environment, the club strictly adheres to a set of protocols. This includes regular cleaning of the mats, mandatory use of hand sanitiser, and thorough disinfection of all surfaces that are frequently touched. Additionally, students are required to arrive for training with clean gis and promptly launder them afterward, promoting hygiene and cleanliness within the club.

The health and well-being of all members are of utmost importance. Individuals who feel unwell are strongly advised to seek medical advice and refrain from attending training. It is through these collective efforts that we can ensure the safety of everyone involved.

The club is eagerly looking forward to scheduling events in the New Year, where they can reunite with their friends from other dojos. However, the feasibility of these events will depend on the evolving COVID-19 situation. Rest assured, Broadwater Aikido will keep interested players informed and updated on any developments.

However, it is important to note that vaccination against COVID-19 is mandatory for training in NSW, ACT, and VIC. This policy also applies to other states and territories once they open up to interstate travellers or experience community outbreaks. The club prioritises the safety of its members, and exemptions from vaccination are not allowed due to the higher risk of potential transmission.

For those with exemptions, the club has also organised online Zoom classes to ensure that everyone can continue their training journey.
