Brighton & Seacliff Yacht Club

The Brighton & Seacliff Yacht Club (BSYC) is a prominent sailing club located in Clifton, South Australia. However, our club offers much more than just sailing. We pride ourselves on being a versatile sports club that also serves as a function centre, a sailing and aquatics school, and a community hub with two bars and a bistro. With our diverse offerings, people of all ages and backgrounds feel welcome and at home in BSYC.

One of the popular water sports activities at BSYC is windsurfing. We have a thriving community of windsurfing enthusiasts of all ages who take part in our single-handed sailboard class, the Windsurfer LT. Based on the original one-design windsurfer from the 70s, our new composite epoxy board is lighter, stiffer, and faster. Every Saturday, more than 10 windsurfers participate in races, making it an exciting and growing class.

BSYC also houses a renowned sailing school, catering to both adults and kids. Our adult sailing courses, held on weekends, are nationally recognised and provide a great introduction to the sport while allowing participants to enjoy the club's facilities. Our sailing school is not limited to beginners; we offer coaching and support for sailors of all ages and skill levels.

Our members actively sail high-performance international classes such as the two-man 505 and the single-handed Contender, providing thrilling races and opportunities for growth and competition.

BSYC's commitment to fostering youth sailing is evident through our youth coaching programmes. On most Saturday mornings throughout the season, we offer coaching sessions for young sailors. The programme starts with our highly popular Tackers classes, designed for young beginners, and then progresses to the Green Fleet, where young sailors get to sail solo in the Optimist Dinghy.
