Hi everyone,
James here, your organiser for Brightlingsea Cricket Club! We’re thrilled to welcome you to our community nestled in the beautiful North Essex Coast in Colchester. With over a century of history, our club thrives on being family-friendly and community-focused, united by our love for cricket.
We've got four senior teams, including a Saturday XI and Sunday XI competing in the Marshall Hatchick Two Counties League. Plus, a Sunday XI in the North Essex Cricket League's T30 competition. For those who fancy a more casual game, our social team, “The Railway”, enjoys 30-over matches against various social and pub teams throughout the season.
Our youth section is buzzing and welcomes kids of all abilities, offering a great environment to develop cricket skills while having fun 🏏. As a Disability Cricket Champion Club and registered charity, we're dedicated to making cricket accessible for everyone. We share our facilities with our friends at The Railway Tavern, strengthening our community bonds.
James invites you to explore our website to find out more about the club. Any questions or keen to join? Drop us a line at brightlingseacricketclub@gmail.com. We’re excited to welcome you to our cricketing family.
We’re proud of our thriving junior players’ programme, including Colts' Cricket and busy Kwik Cricket sessions for the little ones. Thanks to the fantastic support during our 'COVID Bounce Back 2021' crowdfunding appeal, we’ve enhanced our facilities, supported by local businesses and individuals, Sport England, the National Lottery, and the Brightlingsea & District Rotary Club.
While we aim to win, our first goal is to enjoy the cricket we play. We welcome everyone, whether you're up for one match or twenty. Our commitment to inclusivity has earned us recognition from the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) as a Disability Cricket Champion Club, and we're keen to expand our support for disabled players.
On match days and during Kwik Cricket training, our clubhouse bar is always open – it’s a great spot to socialise and support your local cricket club 🍻. If you’d like to get involved, please reach out via email.
You can find us at Bayard Recreation Ground, Regent Road, Brightlingsea, CO7 0NN.
