And a few have even gone on to represent the region and the country at national level.
Our sessions are led by experienced coaches who are dedicated to helping players improve their skills and reach their full potential. We focus on both individual skill development and team tactics, ensuring that players have a well-rounded understanding of the game.
The club is proud to be a part of the Bridport Barracudas Swimming Club, which has a long history in the town. Our water polo section was reformed in 1994 and has since grown to include over 25 players. We offer sessions for ages 7 to 15 and also have a session for older juniors and senior men and ladies.
During the summer holidays, we have the opportunity to play in an open water environment at our traditional home in the harbour at West Bay. This allows our players to further develop their skills and experience the unique challenges of playing in a different setting. We also participate in the Lyme Splash Water Polo Festival, where we compete against teams from other clubs in a fun and friendly atmosphere.
Bridport Barracudas Water Polo is affiliated with the Dorset ASA, Swim England South West, and the Swim England. We adhere to their regulations and guidelines to ensure the safety and well-being of our members.
We are a very welcoming club and strive to create a supportive and inclusive environment for all players. Furthermore, we believe that water polo not only provides a great opportunity for physical activity and skill development, but also teaches important life skills such as teamwork, communication, and discipline.
If you are interested in trying water polo, we invite you to come by on a Monday evening during term time and ask for Fred, our dedicated coach. Alternatively, you can find our contact details on the “Contact” page of our website. We look forward to welcoming you to the Bridport Barracudas Water Polo family!
