Welcome to Bridgnorth Bowling Club! Located in Bridgnorth, NZ, our club has a rich history dating back to 1596, making us one of the oldest clubs in the UK. Originally situated at the Hundred House on the Ludlow Road, we moved to our present location in 1906 when we leased the land from Apley Estates. Our current clubhouse, built in 1997 thanks to a Lottery grant, is considered one of the best in Shropshire.
Bridgnorth Bowling Club is not only known for its history, but also for its active participation in local leagues. We have a number of teams in both the Mid-Shropshire and Highley leagues. In addition to our competitive side, we also have a vibrant social scene. Regular weekend events and social gatherings are held, providing opportunities for members to come together and enjoy each other's company.
One of our longstanding traditions is the Thursday night tea, which has been running for decades. After a delicious meal, members have the opportunity to participate in informal social bowling, where both new and old members can compete in a friendly environment. This night is always a highlight of the week and adds to the strong sense of community within the club.
We also host various events throughout the year. From music quizzes to monthly quiz nights, there's always something happening at Bridgnorth Bowling Club. Our New Years Eve Get Together is a particularly popular event, providing a fantastic way to ring in the new year with fellow club members.

Led by our President, Tony Gregory, the committee includes Vice President Lord Hamilton of Dalzell, Captain Chris Morrissey, Vice Captain Jenny Matthews, Secretary Bill Meredith, Treasurer Ian Wilson, and Bar Secretary George Townson, among others.
We are proud to have a team of skilled coaches who are part of the British Crown Green Bowling Association coaching scheme. Whether you're a beginner or looking to improve your technique, our coaches are available to offer guidance and support. Coach Level 2 Pauline Wilson and Coach Level 1 Barry Matthews are more than happy to provide tuition or help you brush up on your skills. Simply approach them and organise a session.
